Full-Time Position | Mon-Fri, 7am – 4pm
Location: In Facility / Events
Description:
The Production Technician supports the Production & Fabrication Department here at Synergy. This is a crucial role responsible for metal fabrication such as cutting, bending, chamfering, and other operations to support the production of various heavy duty steering and suspension components. This role is also responsible for the set-up and/or operation of shop equipment such as disc sanders, semi-automatic bandsaw, CNC benders, chamber machines, vertical mills, welders, and plasma cutters.
Responsibilities:- Cut, Bend, Bevel, and Prepare various raw materials for welding operations
- Deburr and inspect welded components prior to powder-coating
- Utilize fixtures and special tools to assemble or set-up specific parts or jobs
- Review work instructions to understand steps to fabricate parts
- Operate equipment and tools, such as, but not limited to, disc sander, band saw, cold saw, drill press, etc.
- Operate CNC equipment such as, but not limited to; hydraulic tube bender, plasma tube cutter, press brake, etc.
- Participate in occasional meetings and daily clean-ups
- Record time-per-job on “work order” sheet
- Able to operate a forklift
- 1 year or more experience in any manufacturing, industrial, or assembly operations
- Proficient with simple measuring tools – Must be able to read fractions on a tape measure and use a dial caliper
- Proficient with hand tools (wrenches, drill, etc.) and basic shop tools (grinder, saws, etc.)
- Proficient with reading engineering drawings to understand crucial dimensions of parts being fabricated
- Able to understand and follow oral or written work instructions
- Good communication skills and a strong work ethic
- Able to stand and walk throughout the scheduled 8-hour work shift
- Able to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. on a continuous basis throughout the workday
- High attention to detail
